Housing Association Altglienicke 2
The Challenge

This Berlin housing association needed to solve hard water problems throughout their domestic water supply. They sought a solution that would protect both cold and hot water systems across their portfolio of apartments.

The Solution: Complete System Protection

Cold Water Main

Installation: 1 x Vulcan S50 on the cold water pipe

Protects all cold water lines throughout the building, including kitchen prep areas, bathroom sinks, and drinking water.

Hot Water Circulation

Installation: 1 x Vulcan S10 on the warm water circulation system

Protects hot water heaters, recirculation loops, and all hot water fixtures. Ensures consistent hot water delivery and prevents scale buildup in heating elements.

Vulcan Models Used

This housing association installed two Vulcan models for complete protection:

6-Week Test Results

What They Observed
  • Tenant feedback confirmed: "There was actually less limescale build-up on sanitary fixtures and kitchen appliances."
  • Kettle difference: "Now only needs to be wiped clean and no longer requires strong cleaning agents to remove limescale."
  • Laundry confirmed: "The laundry also confirms better washing results."
Management Decision

"We decided to keep the technology because our tenants and colleagues told us that there was actually less limescale build-up on sanitary fixtures and kitchen appliances."

"The test period was still too short for our fountain, but based on our experience in the household, we hope to be able to remove the limescale deposits from the columns more effectively in the future."

— T. Franzke, Authorized Signatory

The Outcome

After just 6 weeks, the results were clear enough for management to commit to keeping the technology permanently.
