About Pepsico & Walkers
Walkers Snack Foods, a division of Pepsico, sought the latest eco-friendly technologies to reduce existing limescale from pipes and equipment at their waste reclamation plant in the UK.
Their goals were clear: reduce repairs, maintenance, and lower operating costs while improving energy efficiency, lowering energy consumption, and decreasing carbon emissions to support meeting Government targets.

Four Vulcan S100 Units: Strategic Placement
Four Vulcan S100 units were installed across the reclamation site to treat all water supplied, including the CWS, supply from the preparation plant, and from the Moisey plant.

Reclamation Plant (External)
Pipe: 4" stainless steel | 56 m³
Placement: Outside, pre-pump with IP65 protection.
Purpose: Reducing heavy limescale in pipes and pump.
Weather-protected external

Reclamation Plant (Internal)
Pipe: 3" stainless steel | 56 m³
Placement: Post-pump, near roof level.
Purpose: Protecting machinery on 2nd & 3rd floors.
Upper level installation

Cold Water Supply (CWS)
Pipe: 10" stainless steel | 100 m³
Purpose: Protecting entire plant including valves, aerators, toilets.
Main water supply

Moisey Plant Supply
Pipe: 10" stainless steel | < 40 m³
Placement: Within Moisey plant room.
Purpose: Treating residual process water.
Process water protection
